Barium Metapervanadate, Ba(VO4)2

Barium Metapervanadate, Ba(VO4)2, is obtained as a heavy, amorphous, yellow precipitate by the action of a saturated solution of ammonium metapervanadate in 30-33 per cent, hydrogen peroxide, free from sulphuric acid, on barium chloride solution. After washing with hydrogen peroxide it is dried over calcium chloride.
