Barium Oxyiodide, BaI2.BaO.9H2O
Barium Oxyiodide is formed similarly to the other oxyhalides. It has the composition of Barium Oxyiodide, BaI2.BaO.9H2O. By heating to 120° C. it forms the pentahydrate, and over sulphuric acid in vacuo the dihydrate. It is decomposed by water, alcohol, and carbon dioxide.
