Barium Ferrite, BaO.Fe2O3

Barium Ferrite, BaO.Fe2O3, is obtained in small dark brown crystals by heating barium ferrate with a mixture of barium oxide and barium chloride at 800°-1300° C. Oxygen is evolved. The higher the temperature employed the larger the amount of oxide necessary.
